Hello, I’m Fabiola Zambon.
I am the principal designer of Atelier Serenissima, a boutique design studio located in Blue Hill, Maine.
Growing up in Milan, Italy, I was immersed in a culture that celebrates timeless design, craftsmanship, and beauty in everyday life. From an early age, I was fascinated by the way thoughtful interiors could transform how people live and feel. I found myself constantly rearranging friends' and family members' homes, discovering a passion for creating spaces that were both beautiful and functional.
After graduating from Middlebury College, I built my career with respected names in the design industry, starting out by working for Ron Rezek in Santa Monica and then opening the So.Cal Design Within Reach studios. That led me to heading the Vitra Design Museum retail branch, which furthered my exposure to the Los Angeles mid century design community. These experiences shaped my appreciation for modern design while giving me a deep understanding of furnishings, lighting, and the elements that bring a space together with intention.
After years in the fast-paced world of Los Angeles, I was drawn to a slower, more connected way of life. Inspired by a desire to live more sustainably, I made my home in the coastal town of Blue Hill, Maine, where the natural landscape and historic architecture continue to influence my work.
Today, my design philosophy blends clean, modern aesthetics with the warmth and character of New England farmhouses. I believe the most memorable interiors feel collected rather than decorated—layering contemporary furnishings with vintage finds, natural materials, and meaningful objects to create homes that are elegant, comfortable, and deeply personal.
In addition to residential interiors, I specialize in designing and styling short-term rental properties that attract more guests, command higher nightly rates, and generate stronger returns for their owners. My own Airbnb was recognized by Condé Nast Traveler as one of the best listings near Acadia, reflecting my belief that exceptional design creates exceptional guest experiences. I focus on creating distinctive spaces that inspire glowing reviews, repeat bookings, and lasting value
